On Tuesday, October 7, we had the privilege of hearing from several students and one teacher who had the opportunity to visit the land of the Bible during this past summer on a trip led by our very own Mr. Tim Blamer.
The students shared their experiences with their peers, but more than just a trip to Israel and more than just a travelogue, these students shared with their peers the lessons they learned during their adventures in the land of Jesus. Some of these lessons included climbing mountains and learning that Paul is right in Romans 5, perseverance produces hope (rather than the other way around). Several of the students learned that God gives just enough to get through the moment and into the next: the pastures that David speaks of in Psalm 23 are not luscious, green meadows, but tufts of green plants sparsely spread out across the wilderness while moving from one location to another.
But all of those who traveled to Israel agreed that it was not only fun to visit and meet new people, but in a matter of about ten days, and new community of fellowship developed between people who might not have expected to be friends. Praise the Lord!
